What it is
Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), launched in September 2018, covers hospital treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family per year, without cash payment at the hospital.
It covers surgery, medicines, tests, and costs three days before and fifteen days after admission.
Who can benefit
- Families identified in the SECC 2011 data and those added later by the state.
- Since October 2024, every citizen aged 70 or above, whatever their income, through the Ayushman Vay Vandana card.
How to apply
- 1Check eligibility at beneficiary.nha.gov.in or on the Ayushman app with your mobile number and Aadhaar.
- 2Make the Ayushman card at a Common Service Centre (CSC), a listed hospital, or yourself on the app.
- 3At the hospital, show the card at the Ayushman Mitra desk.
